3 GOOD REASONS TO BEGIN SURFING THIS SUMMER
You dream of dominating the waves on a board, with a tanned complexion and a smile worthy of a toothpaste ad? Tanning and teeth are another matter, but surfing brings many advantages. Feel free to try this sport if you have the opportunity at the beach.
A natural antistress
Spending time outside, in a natural environment, with the sun (don't forget the cream) and sea air is an excellent way to relax and relieve tension. Sports effort in general releases hormones of well-being such as endorphin, and surfing helps to push its limits, face its fears and increase its patience. After a day between the waves, you will be exhausted but happy.
Strengthen the whole body
Rowing, standing up, looking for balance, standing up...the whole body is mobilized, from head to toe. This very physical activity burns calories at high speed (about 400 per hour) while toning muscles through the sheathing action. Since the hours go by without us realizing it, we work while having fun. The back is stimulated, as well as the shoulders, arms, and legs. Be careful, however, to complete the surf with exercises that make symmetry work. Practice stretching and yoga movements before and after.
Stimulate the cardiovascular system
By keeping you constantly in motion, surfing helps work the breath and cardiovascular system. The heart is forced to adapt its beat over time, despite the differences in rhythm between the moment we lie on the board and the moment we try to ride the wave and stay in balance.
